This was the first baptism we had seen since we arrived in Russia. This spot along the Amur River has been used by local believers for baptisms for over 100 years. It's in a beautiful but somewhat unknown location as, during Communist times, new followers of Christ met here secretly to be baptized at midnight for fear of being persecuted or imprisoned by the authorities.
