Masada

This is Masada (Hebrew for fortress). It is a fascinating story about the mass suicide of 936 Jews. Here’s a link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Masada

You have to ride a cable car up, or you can hike for an hour. This is where I was very thankful I was carrying a child on this trip, because those of you who know Zach well, know that we would have been trekking up that mountain if we didn’t have Ethan (not that it was a cinch with 18 lbs hanging off the front me).

The Dead Sea was a wonderful experience too. Unfortunately, all the pictures include me in my bathingsuit. So, you can thank me for not posting them. Here is a guy reading the newspaper at the Dead Sea, which is apparently the thing to do there since you absolutley cannot sink.

I took this picture of the Bedouin homes while we were driving back to Jerusalem.

Well, that is all the Israel pics for now. We really enjoyed sharing our experience with you. If you are interested in biblical sites, there are tons of websites with great pictures. Also, if you haven’t downloaded e-sword (free), it is great to have.
